Applied Thermal Sciences chose Alexanders for the precision installation of a hybrid (laser/MIG) welding system designed to manufacture steel sandwich panels for U.S. Navy ships. In phase one utilizing precision aligning instruments, Alexanders affixed rails to the concrete floor that the gantry unit rides on during the laser welding process. Phase two involved joining and securing nine separate welding tables aligned to within 0.015” to ensure a precisely level working surface. In the final phase Alexanders fabricated on-site and installed an overhead support and rail unit to house the power track rolls.
